As we grew, we recognized the need to have a more northern outpost because so many of our prospects and clients were coming from beyond our southern boundaries. Delayed, cancelled flights and lost luggage wasn't anywhere on our fun things to do list. So, we opened our second Catch Your Limit in Virginia's capital city, Richmond, Virginia. Our Richmond office has an adjoining space with a capacity for groups of 50.
We have always felt and found that creative environments and places that allow our clients an escape from the day in day out grind, stop the madness for a moment in time and allow them to take three deep breaths and regain perspective is key to proactive thinking and creativity.
We have always incorporated these spaces and places in everything we do from retreats, strategic planning sessions, idea generation and workshops to leadership and team development.
And, for some time, we've had a dream ... to open other Catch Your Limit's with creative spaces big enough to accommodate all sizes and shaped organizations along with their challenges, opportunities, hopes and dreams ... a place where new ideas, and tall order aspirations could be generated, analyzed, acted upon and perhaps become reality.
So ... we are not just located in Richmond, but we are located in one of the most amazing places and spaces in Richmond, and indeed, the world. Along with our offices, we have a 2000 square foot room that is like a Think Tank, Fish Camp and Disney World all rolled into one. And, if the inside of our space that is located in a restored tobacco warehouse that also holds an international engineering, architectural and interior design firm, several innovative internet related companies and three restaurants isn't enough, you should see what's outside!
We are located in Shockoe Bottom, where Richmond was first founded, within a stone's throw from where Patrick Henry gave the original 13 colonies their battle cry, "... give me liberty or give me death" and a few blocks from where Thomas Jefferson's designed state capitol is located.
If you look up from our entrance you will see I 95's endless parade of over 150,000 north and south bound vehicles a day. Under that are four railroad trestles that hold a constant stream of passenger and freight trains. Across the street to the south is a canal that was George Washington's vision of connecting the Atlantic Ocean with the Mississippi River. It only made it from Richmond to Lynchburg, or 190 miles, before the railroads made it obsolete.
Paralleling the canal to the south is the mighty and majestic James River which offers Richmond deep enough water below the fall line for a port harboring international cargo ships, as well as serving up Class 4-5 rapids that run right through the city!
Add 24-7 non-stop day and nightlife for locals, workers, state government and tourists and you have one of the most stimulating, invigorating, chaotic, places on this planet. It is indeed where the past, present and future are in a blender and morphing a sweet, smelly concoction that can only be described as homegrown, genuine, one-of-a-kind delicious!
We can't get enough of this crazy stuff and we can't wait to share a sip or two with you!
