Launching Our New Website

Since everything we do seems to reference fishing or the water, it's so fitting that we are "launching" our new website.

So, for fun, I googled launching and here's what I found.

The ritual of launching a boat goes back a long, long ways. It seems to have its origins when the Vikings offered human sacrifices upon launching a new longboat. It is very likely that the wine (or champagne) ceremony used today dates back to the original blood ceremony.

Norsemen traditionally offered a human sacrifice to appease the Gods of the Sea, and smeared blood on the bow of the ship. This was considered to be a crucial part of insuring the good fortune of voyages made in that craft.

So, I'm thinking, who can we sacrifice at Catch Your Limit? Seems like a good idea. After all, we want nothing but smooth sailing in the digital waters of the internet.

Ricmond CampWhen I walk into our new space in Richmond, I have to pinch myself and frankly, have a hard time leaving.

We have traveled all over the USA for ten years in search of inspiring places. We recognize the strategic importance environments play in fostering creativity as well as transporting you to a higher vantage point where you can clearly see the forest without the trees blocking the view.

We are always asking our clients to find these kinds of places, use them and share them with us.

Florida Retail Executives Complete Leadership Program & Raise Over $20k

Florida Retail Masters Class VICatch Your Limit & Florida Retail Federation are proud to announce the graduation of Florida Retail Masters Class VI.

The exclusive group of Florida retail leaders who applied and then were chosen to participate in the six month leadership program graduated in Orlando on June 23rd. "Participating in Florida Retail Masters is an unprecedented opportunity in the retail industry. Graduates are poised to take their companies to the top – not only in retailing, but also in Florida's increasingly demanding economy," said Rick McAllister, President/CEO of Florida Retail Federation.

The Challenge: with only four weeks, five student “agencies” had to develop an integrated campaign to compete for the client’s business.

The Results: some of the greatest presentations, ideas and creativity we’ve ever seen!

Creative Strategy I Spring 2010Each year, Catch Your Limit teaches Creative Strategy I at Florida State University. The final project for the class includes dividing the students into small agencies and having them compete with their pitches for the selected client. This year, Lynette Leathers, founder of Mindspot Inc. - a market research company (><(("> client), offered to let the class use Vanity stores as their client. Vanity is a retail chain located mainly in the midwest and with an online presence at www.evanity.com . The class took the research Lynette offered and ran with it. Not only did they create campaigns loaded with great ideas but they also presented them flawlessly.
