"I was normal once. I didn't like it."
Tom Laughon, President of Catch Your Limit Consulting and a leading expert on creativity and strategic thinking, has proven that a consultant doesn't need "big boy shoes" and a tie to be a trusted advisor. His journey from lead singer in a rock-n-roll band, to a successful career in marketing & advertising to consultant, strategist, keynote speaker, facilitator, professor and writer is a fascinating one.
After deciding to leave his band and go back to college, Tom spent a career in advertising helping organizations innovate, create, communicate and take products to market, He's worked with some of America's top brands: Comcast Communications, McDonald's, Reynolds Metals, Corning/Mitsubishi, Samsung, International Dairy Queen and The Society to Protect America's Eagles. Prior to launching Catch Your Limit, Tom consulted for ad agencies, media companies and public relations firms in the areas of branding, new business, presentations and creative strategy.
In 1999, Tom founded Catch Your Limit Consulting. With offices in Richmond and Tallahassee, Tom and his team guide organizations, from Fortune 500 companies to national associations, to "catch their limit" in areas such as leadership development, creativity, innovation, teaming and positive change. His commitment to "practice what he preaches" has made Catch Your Limit a petri dish for round-the-clock experimentation.
As an adjunct professor at Florida State University, his courses have included Creative Strategy I & II for the College of Communications and Professional Selling, Basic Marketing and Promotional Management for the College of Business.
Tom's articles and blogs appear all over creation and he's currently writing a book about fostering creativity and strategic thinking in organizations. A natural storyteller, Tom ignites the hearts, brains and souls of an audience in an entertaining, interactive way that delivers powerful take-a-ways each and every time.
Tom's passion is fishing and his paradise is in the crystal blue Gulf waters off the "Forgotten Coast" and the crystal clear waters of The James River.
