I was a departmental manager on a team with a variety of challenges and we needed help. First of all, we needed a patient and curious analysis of our situation. The next step involved the development of a plan that was measureable and practical. Finally, we needed to accomplish all of this while continuing to push for goals that seemed at times way out of reach.
Tom, Melissa and their team are resourceful resilient and focused on the end goal. Their approach was appropriate based on the situation – cautious when necessary and fearless the rest of the time. Their eyes and ears found the clues that led them to the solutions we could not or would not find. The discussions revealed undiscovered conflicts between teams and priorities and ultimately led to improvements in processes and measurement standards. The communication that started when they initiated their work set a new standard that really changed the culture of our entire organization.
Catch Your Limit is about coloring outside of the lines and making the picture much better in the process. From our experience, their delivery exceeded our expectations in every category that we measured. I would bring them to the table again without a moment’s hesitation.

Catch Your Limit Consulting is not your typical firm. The company's philosophy and approach to working with organizations provides a hands on yet objective process that benefits any size association. Our association management company has worked with Catch Your Limit for several years in developing an internal leadership/management team culture and standards.
The principles that Catch Your Limit utilizes, to achieve an outcome, benefit not only to the senior leadership of an organization, but also provide direct value to all levels of a team. Our company would not be where it is today without the presence of Catch Your Limit in our world. The intangibles of working with Catch Your Limit almost equal or outweigh the tangible takeaways. I unequivocally recommend any organization that is looking to move to the next level, to take a few minutes and see how Catch Your Limit can be part of your journey.

Innovative. Fun. Challenging.
These are just a few of the words my team used to describe their 18-month learning experience with Catch Your Limit. As a team that had taken on new projects and new staff in a whirlwind of membership outreach, we needed Catch Your Limit’s assistance in learning how to communicate inside and outside our department; to take ownership of our new projects; to build smaller teams that were project-specific and to embrace the changes around us proactively instead of reactively. Supervisors and the department director received individual counseling and the entire team had monthly meetings and half-day retreats throughout the 18-months, all of which resulted in improvements to every aspect of the department’s work. We are a very thankful recipient of the ><((“> magic!

Catch Your Limit expertly designed a strategic planning process for the Board of an organization that had never trusted the process nor had any experience in follow through and implementation. As one director told me, Catch Your Limit was the only consultant in memory that had been trusted enough to be asked to continue to guide the Board. The outcome has been transformational. The entire Board not only believes in the process but is truly excited about the potential of what the strategic plan has shown them of the association’s future. Catch Your Limit’s talent is amazing and I will be forever grateful for their guidance, expertise and impact.

We used Catch Your Limit Consulting to do a membership assessment. ACEC Virginia needed to know how our members saw the association so we could adapt our organization to the new era. Catch Your Limit did telephone interviews with our members and presented a report with recommendations for our Board to review and consider. This report became the base for the changes that we have implemented over time. I would recommend Catch Your Limit as a resource to any association that wanted to do a “self-check” on their organization.

Retail Masters was a great opportunity for me to step back and look at my business - to reflect on my personal leadership skills. With business being tough over the past few years, I've been placing most of my focus on the day to day operations but not the development of our leaders and myself. The first week in Retail Masters reminded me that we have to take time to have fun, be inspired, and detox. Over the next few sessions, I came to the realization that the most important contribution I can make to my business is to create the future leaders for our organization and our community. These were all things I had heard before, but I think the light bulb finally went off when Tom helped me realize that I'll always be too busy, but in order to grow both my business and myself I have to make the time to develop and grow leaders within our organization. In addition to all the personal development, Retail Masters was also a great tool for me to gain knowledge about our state government and the impact our businesses and our voices can make on the decisions being made in Tallahassee. The experiences and the friendships developed over the past 6 months have definitely helped me develop both personally and professionally. I look forward to continuing both my new friendships and our legacy project in the coming months.

For me the Retail Masters program gave me a great appreciation of how retail is important to the Florida economy. From the small sole proprietor shop to big box stores, retail is a significant driver to the state. Personally, the relationships built with other Retail Masters were invaluable. I'll have friends to network with, and share best practices, as we all continue in our careers. The field trips during our monthly sessions gave me a great appreciation of how retail strategies, when put into place, help strengthen our communities, particularly in South Florida where Publix Sabor has proven to be successful. The leadership development training provided me with additional skills sets to assist my professional growth. In all, Retail Masters was a rewarding experience that I will recommended to other upcoming leaders within my organization.

How to Generate Generational Momentum
"Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves."
- Carl Jung
For the first time in history, organizations must face the challenge of employing four different generations: The Traditionalists, The Boomers, The Xers and the Yers.
Who are they? What are their work ethics? What are their values? Why do they clash? Understanding each generation's differences is the first step in closing your organization's generation gap. This session is fun, humorous and loaded with practical ways to motivate and work with the different generations.
Business Book Inspired Presentations
It's been our discovery that a lot of people buy business books, fewer people read them and even fewer people implement strategies from them. If you and/or your organization is looking to turn a great book into a learning tool, talk with us about our approach. We've gotten great feedback from our take on:
- Good to Great by Jim Collins
- Five Dysfunctions of a Team by Patrick Lencioni
- Six Thinking Hats by Edward De Bono
- First, Break All the Rules by Marcus Buckingham
- The Heart of Change & Our Iceberg is Melting by John Kotter
- The Radical Leap by Steve Farber
- The Change Monster by Jeanie Duck
- Fish! by Lundin, Paul & Christensen
